These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Cookbook mobile application (“the App”) provided by Karhucode (“we”, “us”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The App
The App helps you manage recipes, shopping lists, menus, and related content. Some features require an internet connection and a signed-in account. Features may differ by platform and by subscription plan.
2. Accounts
If you create an account or sign in, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these Terms are violated or if required for security or legal reasons.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of recipes, images, lists, and other content you create or import (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to host, sync, process, and display Your Content solely to operate the App (for example cloud sync and family sharing when available).
You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights to use it in the App. Do not upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App, including attempting unauthorized access, disrupting the service, abusing AI or sharing features, scraping at scale, or using the App in violation of applicable law.
5. Subscriptions, plans, and changes
Paid plans (for example Basic and Pro) and any free tier are offered as described in the App and in the applicable store listing at the time you subscribe or use Free features.
What you purchase. A paid subscription gives you access to the App’s then-current features and limits for that plan while your subscription remains active. Purchases and billing are processed by Apple and/or Google, together with RevenueCat. We do not charge your payment card directly outside those stores.
Displayed limits. Quotas shown in the App describe the current package and may be enforced by our servers.
Right to change. We may change, add, reduce, or remove features, limits, Free-tier inclusions, or plan packaging for operational, legal, security, or product reasons. Plan features are not guaranteed to remain identical for the life of a subscription.
How changes apply. For material reductions to benefits of an active paid subscription, we aim to give reasonable notice in the App and/or by email when we have a workable contact channel. Changes may take effect on the next renewal, on a date stated in the notice, or as otherwise required by law.
Downgrade or lapse. If your paid subscription ends, your access follows the then-current Free or remaining entitled plan rules. We do not delete your local library solely because of a plan change.
Refunds. Refunds and billing disputes are handled under Apple’s and Google’s policies. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple or Google account settings.
6. Third-party services
The App may rely on third parties (authentication, cloud hosting, subscriptions, on-device OCR, or optional AI providers you enable). Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services.
7. Availability and disclaimer
The App is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under applicable law (including Finnish and EU consumer law where it applies).
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for App subscriptions in the twelve months before the claim or (b) fifty euros (€50), except where liability cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires additional consent or notice.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence may also apply. Courts in Finland have jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer venue rules.
